NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

We wanted to know how NAKED2 stood up to the original, so we swatched them! How do you think they compare?

Have you swatched these palettes? Post them in this thread.

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

Naked 2 without a doubt.

Re: NAKED2 vs.. The Original NAKED

I love the colors in the NAKED pallet, but the video doesn't really show what the colors would look like on most skin types. I'm a darker complexion than what's shown in the video. Before I purchase this product I want to know if it looks good or will look good on darker complexion African American women?

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I own both pallets and like them both for different looks.  But I notice in this video palett #2 looks better on darker skin.

I don't compare them all I know is I can't live without them both they are the LBD of my make-up drawer. Great for all skin colors, versitle, blendable and absolutly gorgeous!!!! Heart

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

Everything seems to look so much prettier and more sparkly on darker skin tones! Too bad I'm pale! 😞

I have pale skin too and they still sparkle and light up my eyes.

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I recently bought the first Naked palette, and I'm loving it!  I was going to wait and get Naked 2 instead, but after finally playing with the Naked tester, I couldn't resist!

Before clicking the play button on the video, in the picture of the palette the second and fourth shade on the left look orangish?  I'm guessing the lighting and swatcher's skintone are causing that illusion.

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I love my Naked palette and can't wait til Naked2 hits stores so I can play with it before I decide to buy it!! (I don't know why I'm pretending like I don't already KNOW I'm going to end up getting it!)

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I figured out that if you right click and hit "open image in new tab" the picture is bigger so you can see the swatches better.

I'm confused about the swatches though. Is each palette swatched twice, once on a lighter color skin, and then on darker color skin? They look so different! Might be just hte lighting, but makeup always shows up so much more shimmery on tan skin...

So far, I think I like the original Naked palette better, but I'm partial to warm colors, and I hate silvers/greys 😛

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

This happens because how we see a specific color is relative to the colors surrounding it.  In this example, both of the brown squares are the same color, but look different because of the colors surrounding them:Albers1 copy.gif

great visual - absolutely true!

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

Before I order the new Naked palette, I was wondering if 2 has more matte neutral colors than in the original?

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

The Naked kit has 2...a light brown and a darker brown.  Naked 2 has 3...a vanilla, a pinkish brown, and a black...hope this helps...:)

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I bought the original and used it for a while before Naked 2 came out. I'm NC25 for reference and prefer warmer shades but Naked 2 is really awesome. Some of the shades are a bit cooler but they are so different, specifically verve and pistol. I know some complained about fallout of glitter with sidecar (Naked) and chopper (Naked 2) so what I do is just a piece of tape and gently press it against the skin to remove the glitter chunks. The colors are too pretty to avoid because of the fallout!

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I've not had too much fallout from Sidecar from Naked 1.  It's one of my favorites!

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I have the same issue. What are you ladies doing to avoid so much fallout from Sidecar?

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

I love both palettes, but I would also like to know how to avoid fallout from sidecar. I have tried Too Faced Glitter Glue, stape, translucent powder etc. I think it is falling onto my eye after I put it on. *sigh* oh well, it's not like glitter all over my face is that unattractive. LOL.

Re: NAKED2 vs. The Original NAKED

Hi Tuesdaym,

Fallout from certain colors in the Naked Palettes are almost impossible to avoid!  I find packing the shadow on rather than swiping helps avoid a LOT of fallout.  Any blending of the colors will cause serious fallout!!  And of course, using a fantastic primer to hold everything in place is so very necessary!  The Too Faced Shadow Insurance has really great staying power in my opinion!

I also do my foundation routine AFTER using anything with large amounts of glitter or sparkle.  If for some reason I have fallout afterwards, a piece of tape is great for picking up any excess glitter!  But be sure to remove some of the stickiness on the back of your hand a bit 🙂

Hope that helps!

xo, Mia
